Hungarian livestock is back in Turkey

BUDAPEST - Anatolia News Agency
Hungarian livestock producers are pleased that Turkey has reopened its doors to the importation of Hungarian livestock after recent worries that Hungarian cattle and sheep might not meet meat quality standards.

Hungary exports 1,500 cattle to Turkey every week, but meat prices have gone up by 30 percent this year, according to Zsombor Wagenhoffer, the president of the Hungarian Animal Producers Union (MTI). A price of 4 euros per kilo has led Turkey to look elsewhere, like Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, for meat, according to Wagenhoffer.
