ISTANBUL
A prison guard who allegedly mistreated an arrested reporter has been temporarily removed from his post, daily Vatan reported.

The lawyer of daily Vatan reporter Çağdaş Ulus, who has been under arrest due to alleged links to the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK), said they were informed that a prison guard who insisted on making his client clean the toilets had been temporarily removed from his post.

Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz issued a press release last week saying Ulus had been forced to clean toilets of the prison’s confinement facility.
