Ali Elmacı depicts the modern history of social problems without restraint when it comes to using irony and sarcasm. Aspects of family, society, state, media and sacred values that are invisible to the naked eye are conveyed through the scenarios and characters that he builds. Elmacı was introduced by x-ist for the first time in 2011 with his show “Inheritance Passes From Father To Son,” which criticized society through portraits. Elmacı’s second solo exhibition, “Save Me with Your Fire,” runs from Oct. 18 to Nov. 17 once again at x-ist. Elmacı’s paintings are, in fact, caricaturized versions of society’s most hidden stereotypes. “Save Me with Your Fire” is made up of direct reflections of current affairs.
