The project stands out as a key generation facility in Southeast Turkey, and is also one of the major private sector investments in the region. When operational, the power plant can facilitate the export of electricity to the neighboring countries.
Creating new jobs in the region
”Akkök is one of the most significant electricity producers in the country as well as being a sizeable industrial consumer. Additionally, their experience in running complicated EPC contracts and expertise in retail, trading and generation parts of the energy value chain were critical in our selection process,” he said.
The Şırnak power plant will be among the most efficient power producers in the country, he noted. And the plant is expected to be one of the largest industrial development in the region, providing hundreds of new jobs in the region.
