The youth branch of a conservative group in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri has covered advertisements of a bra brand placed on bus stop billboards on the grounds that they were “immoral.”

The youth organization “Yedi Hilal” (Seven Crescent) in the Kayseri city center has covered the relevant brand’s advertisements with banners that read, “Do not rent out your eye, our eyes are slaves,” calling on the metropolitan municipality to remove the ads from the billboards, Doğan News Agency reported on Feb. 6.

The bra company released a statement regarding the issue, saying they were “baffled” by the group’s reaction. “We work across Turkey and advertise in all of our provinces. Since we not only serve Kayseri, we will continue to place the ads. We do not think it is immoral and we find these protests absurd,” said Figen Özcan, who spoke on behalf of the company.
