Turkish defense company Aselsan’s revenue rose by 25 percent in real terms year-on-year to 88.5 billion Turkish Liras in the first half of 2026, the company said.
New contracts increased by 72 percent to $4.9 billion, the highest level recorded by Aselsan for a first-half period. Its order backlog climbed by 45 percent to $23.2 billion.
The company said demand for high-technology products supported revenue growth, with air defense, radar, electronic warfare, naval systems, electro-optics, guided munitions and AI-assisted urban security systems contributing to sales.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose by 31 percent to 23.2 billion liras. The EBITDA margin increased by 1.2 percentage points to 26.3 percent, while the net debt-to-EBITDA ratio declined from 0.57 to 0.55.
Research and development spending grew by 41 percent to $804 million. Investments in serial production and capacity expansion surged by 195 percent to $323 million.
Aselsan also commissioned new production and testing facilities for smart munitions, air defense and underwater systems during the period. The facilities, completed with an investment of $40 million, have a combined indoor area of 17,360 square meters.
The first phase of the company’s Oğulbey Technology Base is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter.
Aselsan President and CEO Ahmet Akyol said the company had surpassed $20 billion in outstanding orders for the first time in 2025.
“We believe we will see the $30 billion level beginning next year,” he said.
