11 suspects detained over ISIL links in Istanbul
DHA PhotoEleven suspects were detained over alleged links to the Islamic State Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in Istanbul’s Fatih district on Nov. 27, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Istanbul counterterrorism police received intelligence about addresses belonging to ISIL suspects in the İskenderpaşa neighborhood of Fatih.
Police conducted surveillance on the addresses over the week before raiding the address late on Nov. 26.
The 11 suspects who were detained were foreign nationals.
Police also seized digital data and organizational documents during the searches.
The suspects were taken to Istanbul’s main police department on Vatan Avenue after medical examinations at the Haseki Training and Research Hospital.
