Women caught on camera while stealing aid money for families of Soma victims
ISTANBUL
A security camera has caught two women in Istanbul stealing a donation box that was placed to raise aid money for the families of mine workers who died in the Soma disaster last month. The women stole the box from an invoice payment center in Istanbul’s district of Ataşehir, after distracting the person on duty.
Police have launched an operation to capture the thieves.
Turkey is still working to heal the wounds of the Soma disaster in which 301 workers lost their lives on May 13 in the deadliest mine accident in the country’s history.
