One village guard was killed during clashes between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants on Nov. 11 in the Genç district of the eastern Turkish province of Bingöl. 

The 28-year-old Mehmet Koçdağ succumbed to his injuries at the Genç Public Hospital after being wounded in clashes with PKK militants.

Meanwhile, one soldier was killed after being heavily wounded on Nov. 7 in a PKK attack targeting a battalion in the southeastern province of Şırnak. 

Bayram Kardaş died despite being airlifted to the Şırnak Public Hospital in a helicopter after being injured. 

The Turkish Armed Forces on Nov. 7 carried out aerial operations on PKK targets in the rural parts of the eastern province of Tunceli and the Zap region in northern Iraq. 

After conducting the first series of attacks in the morning on targets in Tunceli and Zap, Air Force jets again hit PKK targets in rural Tunceli in the afternoon, killing five militants.
