Two soldiers killed in PKK clashes in Turkey’s southeast

Two soldiers were killed on Nov. 4 during clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern Hakkari province, amid the Turkish army continued its airstrikes against the PKK bases in the northern Iraq. 

Two soldiers were killed while one was injured during an operation conducted against PKK militants in the Hakkari Yüksekova region, according to the official statement.

Some 15 PKK militants were also killed in the operations, the statement added.

Earlier the same day, the Chief of Staff said aerial attacks following the Nov. 3 operation continued to hit PKK positions in northern Iraq and Turkey. A written statement posted on the website of the Chief of General Staff said the military operation was conducted on Nov. 3 and targeted 16 different positions of the PKK in Hakkari’s Dağlıca village and in northern Iraq. 

It also informed that four militants were killed in operations conducted in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district.
