Türkiye and seven other countries have condemned Israel’s declared rejection of the road map for completing U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza conflict, warning that the move threatens its implementation and wider peace efforts.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates also condemned Israel’s rejection of Palestinian statehood.
The plan was endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
“Such rejection confirms that Israel now bears responsibility for obstructing the efforts to bring peace in Gaza and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” the ministers said.
The road map, which has been accepted by Palestinian factions, was drawn up through mediation involving Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States, the High Representative for Gaza and the Board of Peace, according to the statement.
It provides for the decommissioning of weapons alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of an international stabilization force, the transfer of administrative authority to a Palestinian technocratic committee and the reconstruction of Gaza.
The ministers said Israel would bear “direct and full responsibility” for any deterioration on the ground or disruption of efforts to end the war resulting from its rejection, obstruction or delay of the plan.
They called for sustained U.S. involvement to secure Israel’s compliance and urged the Board of Peace to take immediate measures to prevent further obstruction and advance the plan’s second phase.
The ministers also reiterated support for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
