Turkish universities well-placed in Emerging Economies Rankings

Istanbul's Boğaziçi University came 7th in the rankings.

Eight Turkish universities were listed this year among the 100 top universities in the "BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings," with the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) in Ankara taking third place in the list.

ODTÜ was also named the world’s 85th best university in the 2015 rankings.

Boğaziçi University and Istanbul Technical University followed ODTÜ in the 7th and 8th spots on the list, respectively.

Sabancı University was in 15th spot, Bilkent University was ranked 19th, Koç University was 29th, Istanbul University was 51st, and Hacettepe University was 82nd on the list.

The other universities in the top 10 were from China, South Africa, Russia, Taiwan and Brazil.

The BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings apply 13 performance indicators grouped into five areas: Teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
