Turkey's ODTÜ ranked in top 100 of Times Higher Education’s World Reputation Rankings

ISTANBUL – Hürriyet Daily News
Times Higher Education, one of the leading publications on higher education, ranked Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) number 51 in its annual World Reputation Rankings, a list of the best-reputed colleges and universities across the globe based on surveying data from experienced academics.

ODTÜ was the only university in Turkey that made the top 100 list.

Harvard University ranked first in the top reputations list of the survey, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The United Kingdom’s University of Cambridge is ranked third on the top 100 list of the world’s most powerful universities survey.

World Reputation Rankings employ the world’s largest invitation-only academic opinion survey to provide the top 100 most powerful universities, according to Times Higher Education.

The 2013 survey was conducted in March and April 2012 in 144 countries, receiving 16,639 responses from published academics who had been working in the industry for an average of 17 years.

The Times Higher Education’s World Reputation Rankings are different from its World University Rankings, in which ODTÜ ranked 201st for 2012-2013.
