The Fire of Anatolia performs the first ‘Troy’ show of the new season.

The Fire of Anatolia kicked off the new season for the show “Troy” in Antalya’s Aspendos Theater. The troupe will be staging two or three shows per week for the next six months in the southern province.

“Apart from being a show, Troy is a historical myth that we stage,” art director Mustafa Erdoğan said in presenting the new season to journalists.

Erdoğan also said the troupe aimed to tell the story of Anatolia and Turkey.

Troy is as old as the stories in many of the world’s sacred books. Known as Wilusa to the Hittites and Ilion to some ancient Greeks, Troy, as it is known to most of the world, is located in the Hisarlık region of Çanakkale and was founded thousands years ago, coming to serve as the basis for many ancient myths over time.
