Transporter flees with bank money in Istanbul

A man working for a security company allegedly stole the money he was transporting in Istanbul's Sultanbeyli district today.

The security guard, whose identity was not released, took the cash from an armored car he was guarding.

The suspect stole a total of 350,000 Turkish Liras, 300,000 euros and 50,000 British pounds.

Numerous police squads were dispatched to the location of the robbery while an investigation was also launched.

The company transported cash between bank branches, the report said.
