Three suicide vests found in Turkey’s south

Three suicide vests with plastic explosives were seized at the side of a road in the Tarsus district of the southern province of Mersin on June 9.Locals spotted a suspicious package on the right side of the TEM highway near Kavşaklar neighborhood and informed gendarmerie of the package. Bomb disposal experts spotted four packages on the roadside and detonated one suicide vest along with six batons enforced with ball bearings.
Experts also found another two suicide vests and 18 batons inside the other packages.
An investigation into the incident was opened as gendarmerie seized the suicide vests and batons.
