The services sector accounts for 41 percent of employment.

Türkiye had 4.02 million active enterprises in 2025, with the services sector accounting for the largest share at 48.4 percent, followed by trade with 31.6 percent and industry with 12.4 percent.

The services sector also led employment, representing 41.2 percent of the workforce, while industry accounted for 26.1 percent.

Trade generated the largest share of total turnover, at 46.8 percent. Although services had the highest shares in both enterprise numbers and employment, the sector accounted for 17.8 percent of total turnover. Industry represented 28.5 percent of turnover.

Analysis by enterprise size showed that businesses with 250 or more employees accounted for 34.3 percent of total turnover, while firms employing between one and nine people generated 25.8 percent. Enterprises with 10 to 49 employees represented 19.8 percent of turnover and those with 50 to 249 employees accounted for 20.1 percent.

In employment terms, the largest share was held by enterprises with one to nine employees, accounting for 36.4 percent of total employment. Large enterprises with 250 or more employees accounted for 27.0 percent, followed by firms employing 10 to 49 people with 19.6 percent and those employing 50 to 249 people with 17.0 percent.

The manufacturing sector remained heavily concentrated in low-technology activities. In 2025, 54.4 percent of manufacturing enterprises operated in low-technology industries.

These businesses accounted for 47.9 percent of manufacturing employment and 35.8 percent of the sector’s turnover.
