Puyol set for knee surgery, will miss Euros

Barcelona says Carles Puyol will undergo knee surgery, ruling the Spain international out of Euro 2012.The Spanish league club says Puyol finished Saturday's 4-0 victory over Espanyol with discomfort in his right knee, with subsequent medical tests leading the 34-year-old to opt for arthroscopic surgery.
Barcelona says the surgery will be performed on Saturday and Puyol will need six weeks to recover.
World Cup champion Spain begins its European Championship defense on June 10 against Italy.
