One officer, 8 militants killed in clashes

Some members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attacked five different locations with long barrel arms and rocket launchers earlier today in the southeastern province of Şırnak, including a police department and military apartments.

One policeman killed, two was wounded.

An operation was also launched to locate the assailants. Eight militants were killed during clashes.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU.
