Only one person was arrested May 15, of 48 fans detained by the Istanbul police for their alleged involvement in the crowd trouble following the Spor Toto Super League championship game between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray May 12.

Prosecutors at the Kadıköy Courthouse ruled for the arrest of one fan in relation to the incidents at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium and on the streets of Kadıköy after the game, in which Fenerbahçe lost the league title following a goalless draw.

The 48 suspects who were sent to the Kadıköy courthouse following their detention by the police were transferred to court with a demand for their arrest on charges of “resisting the police,” “damaging public property” and “causing public indignation.” It is reported that the police department will continue to search through video recordings taken at the stadium.
