Motor dysfunction leaves steamship stranded in Istanbul

A steamship on the Kadıköy-Karaköy route was unable to dock due to a mechanical error.The Şehit Mustafa Aydoğdu drifted off into the sea unable to dock when the motor suddenly faltered. The defective vessel continued, colliding with the Galata bridge and causing some passengers to fall to the ground. Other panic-stricken passengers attempted to jump from the vessel onto shore, leading crew and police to take preventive measures for their safety.
A second steamship later approached and carried the angered passengers to the Karaköy dock.
