Istanbul’s Avcılar metrobus station closed due to false bomb notice

ISTANBUL
Istanbul’s Avcılar metrobus station closed due to false bomb notice The metrobus station in Istanbul’s Avcılar district was closed due to a false bomb notice on April 17.

Police teams were dispatched to the station upon identification of a suspicious package and the station was closed by the police.

The line remained active but metrobuses did not stop at the station, to which a team of specialists was called.

After the examinations, it was understood that the suspicious object was a flask.

The station was reopened after half an hour.

This is the second time a metrobus station in Avcılar has been closed due to a bomb threat.

A suspicious plastic bottle surrounded with ball bearings triggered panic at a metrobus station in the same district early on April 13.

Following a call, police teams were dispatched to the University Campus metrobus station in Avcılar. Police conducted inspections in the station but did not find any threat in the area.
