International SportsAccord summit to be held in Belek next year

Professor Dr. Uğur Erdener, head of the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) and also the head of the SportAccord 2014 Organization Committee, said he was very happy to have had the opportunity to host the event at a resort in Belek.

The 2014 SportAccord International Congress and Exposition will be held next year in Belek, a district of the touristic province Antalya, according to an announcement.

SportAccord International Sports Federations announced that the 12th SportAccord International Congress would be held in Turkey between April 6 and 11, 2014.

The congress, which is held every year, brings together high executives and officials of the International Sports Federations (SportAccord), the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and different organizations and federations dealing with sports. The congress also allows a flow of communication among the participants.

President of SportAccord Nis Hatt said the congress they decided to organize in Belek would allow them to work in a spacious and comfortable environment. “The resort [in which the congress is going to take place] is ideal to socialize thanks to its comfortable and practical setup,” said Hatt.

Professor Dr. Uğur Erdener, head of the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) and also the head of the SportAccord 2014 Organization Committee, said he was very happy to have had the opportunity to host the event at a resort in Belek.

“I believe that the SportAccord Congress, which is organized for the first time in Turkey, will be incredibly pleasant and unforgettable not only with its perfect facilities but also with the region’s wonderful natural beauty,” Erdener said.

Belek rests in a location that is developing on sports events. Earlier this year, the Turkish Airlines Golf World Final, a key event that brought together eight of the top-ranked players in men’s golf, was organized in the same area. The 2013 World Archery Championships will also take place in Belek.
