Galatasaray to roll out ‘GS Kafe’ for fans nationwide

Galatasaray is preparing to expand its commercial footprint beyond sports retail, announcing plans to enter the food and beverage sector with a new cafe chain under the “GS Kafe” brand.

The move comes as the Istanbul-based club continues to build on its recent sporting and financial momentum, including strong performances in both the Turkish Süper Lig and European competitions.

Club officials confirmed that the GS Kafe concept will be rolled out nationwide, in all 81 provinces of Türkiye. The first outlets are expected to open at key symbolic locations, including RAMS Park — the club’s home ground in Sarıyer district — and Istiklal Avenue, one of Istanbul’s busiest cultural and commercial corridors.

The cafes will be integrated into existing retail infrastructure, either located within or adjacent to GS Store outlets, with the aim of offering what the club describes as a “fully immersive yellow-red experience” for supporters.

Galatasaray possesses the largest share of football supporters in Türkiye. According to surveys, approximately 36-40 percent of Turkish football fans are Galatasaray supporters.

The initiative is part of a strategy led by club president Dursun Özbek, focused on extending the Galatasaray brand into consumer spaces. The franchise model will require an entry fee of approximately $50,000, enabling rapid domestic expansion while generating licensing revenue for the club.

Financially, the project is expected to complement Galatasaray’s already robust merchandising arm, which reportedly surpasses 100 million euros ($115,000,000) in annual revenue.

However, the more significant development lies in capital markets. The club is nearing the final stage of an initial public offering for its retail subsidiary, Galatasaray Mağazacılık AŞ. The company is set to be valued at around $700 million, with an initial fundraising target of $150 million.

In parallel, Galatasaray is also planning to increase the number of GS Store outlets in the near term, reinforcing its dual strategy of retail expansion and brand diversification.
