Galatasaray only needed seven minutes to seal a 2-0 victory against Sanica Boru Elazığspor at the Türk Telekom Arena on Dec. 6, boosting back its confidence ahead of the do-or-die Champions League game in the midweek.

Selçuk İnan opened the score in the 2nd minute after a cross from Didier Drogba. Burak Yılmaz doubled the score from a free kick five minutes later, after the ball pinballed between the post and goalkeeper Zülküf Özer’s back.

With all the thought on Dec. 10’s Juventus game, Roberto Mancini’s man slowed the pace to cruise for a smooth victory following last week’s draw against Kasımpaşa.

With the result, Galatasaray moves provisionally to third at 26 points. Leaders Fenerbahçe will travel to Çaykur Rize on Dec. 7 to bounce back after their surprising ouster from the Turkish Cup against the second-tier club Fethiyespor. Their last week’s rival Beşiktaş, fourth at 25 points, also ousted from the Turkish Cup by anther first division club Bucaspor, will entertain Sivasspor at home on Dec. 9.
