‘Environmentalist crow’ in Turkish city goes viral
Photos: Mustafa Oğuz / Doğan News AgencyAn environmentally-conscious crow that took out the trash in a western Turkish city has gone viral on social media.
Doğan News Agency correspondent Mustafa Oğuz photographed the crow at work in İzmir’s Kültürpark on June 17.
The crow, the nest of which is located in the park, is seen in the first photos eating leftover rice from a styrofoam plate that it found on the grass.
In the next photos, it is seen taking the plate to the garbage and throwing it away.
After international social media users discovered the photos recently, they went viral on a number of channels including Pinterest.
Unfortunately, only a few of those who shared the photographs mentioned its location and credited the photographer.
