A
number of highways have been blocked by long traffic jams around Turkey, as the
official Eid al-Adha holiday begins today and people hit the roads.
Tailbacks
about 10-kilometers long occurred around the toll booths on the TEM highway in
the Black Sea province of Bolu, after the road was reduced to a single lane
despite free passes being approved during the holiday.
However,
vehicle density is low in Istanbul and traffic is flowing freely on the roads
leading to Istanbul.
