A 1-year-old child has been found alive in the woods after surviving 26 hours alone following a car crash that killed both her parents in the southwestern province of Muğla, according to Doğan news agency.
 
Elif Zeynep Birdane was found about 50 meters away from the car wreck after her family’s car rolled over a cliff. The family was on their way to attend the funeral of a relative in the Central Anatolian province of Kırıkkale.
 
Gendarmerie forces reached the bodies of Elif Zeynep's parents around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 23. The toddler was found soon after.
 
The baby reportedly flew out of the car window on impact, but suffered nothing more than a bloody nose, according to the agency.
