As many as 55 other people were injured when another passenger bus went off the same road, after the driver lost control of the vehicle, only 15 minutes after the first crash. All the 65 injured were taken to the Erciyes University Medical School Hospital and several other private hospitals in the Central Anatolian province.
Ambulances, police officers and gendarmerie forces in large numbers were dispatched to the scene. Those with serious injuries were provided with initial medical treatment by staff.
The all injured were reported to be good condition. The gendarmerie has since launched an investigation into the two crashes.
