Turkey wins shooting gold at Mersin Games

Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikeç won the gold medal in the men’s 50m pistol competition at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin June 25.Dikeç, who had won a silver medal earlier in the 10m air pistol contest, added to his medal tally with another achievement at the Erdemli Shooting Center.
The seventh day of the games will be highlighted by the start of the athletics events at the Nevin Yanıt Sports Complex.
Medals will be delivered in nine categories today, but Mersin native Yanıt will be missing from the action at the stadium that was named after her. The two-time European 110-meter hurdles runner was not included in the Games squad after testing positive for banned substances earlier this year.
