Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner attended a press conference on March 4 in Istanbul. He will take the stage on May 8 with Australian Lisa Gerard.

World-famous Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner will take the stage at the Istanbul Congress Center on May 8 with the accompaniment of Australian singer, composer and arranger Lisa Gerrard.

The concert is organized by Map Communications and Piu Music organization with the main sponsorship of Yapı Kredi.

Attending a press conference March 4 at Istanbul’s Rixos Pera Hotel, Preisner said he would present surprises in a number of different area during his three-part concert.

Preisner is best known for composing the music for films directed by fellow Pole Krzysztof Kieslowski. His “Song for the Unification of Europe,” based on the Greek text of 1 Corinthians 13, is attributed to a character in Kieslowski’s “Three Colors: Blue” and plays a dominating role in the story.

His music for “Three Colors: Red” includes a setting of Polish and French versions of a poem by Wislawa Szymborska, a Polish Nobel Prize-winning poet.
