Gov’t to spend for roads and water

The Interior Ministry in Ankara has ordered local governors to release the money allocated under a program to improve water supplies and road access to remote settlements, the Istanbul-based newspaper said, citing unidentified officials at the ministry. Last year the money wasn’t distributed until May, the newspaper said.

The payments last year were delayed and there’s no link this year between the spending and the elections, a senior official at the ministry said, according to Hürriyet.
