Animation Fest to start in Istanbul

The eighth International Animation Festival starts on Oct. 8 and hosts animation director Michel Ocelot.
The eighth International Animation Days will be in Istanbul on Oct. 7 and 8 with both short and feature-length animated films. Entries to the festival should have been completed after Jan. 1, 2010; if the films are being submitted in the short category, they should be no longer than 40 minutes. There is no submission fee.The festival is being organized by the French Culture Center and supported by the French Animation Cinema Association, the Istanbul Animation Festival, TRT Kids and Bahçeşehir University. A total of 35 films will be screened at the festival, with a portion of the offerings to be screened on Oct. 7 to be directed toward grownups, while the films on Oct. 8 will be geared toward children.
There will also be ateliers and workshops for children.
French animation cinema star Michel Ocelot will also participate in the festival.
