Writer gets art days award

This year’s sixth international Çukurova Art Days award ceremony honored writer İpek Ongun with the Çukurova Award.This year’s event has the motto “Peace for friendship, friendship for peace.”
The event was organized by Adana and Mersin mayors as well as the Antakya Chamber of Trade and Industry.
The award ceremony took place at the Adana Municipality Theater Hall.
İpek Ongun, who is known for her children’s and youth’s novels, received her award from Adana Deputy Mayor Halil Tüm. Speaking during the award ceremony Ongun said she was proud to receive such an award.
’I did something to be remembered in future’
“This award shows me that I did not spend my lifetime for nothing. Each person has a time in their life to evaluate what they have done until now. I think this award shows me that I did something that will be remembered in the future.”
Çukurova Art Days will end March 26. The organization contains many events.
Parallel events, such as reading activities, poem events, exhibitions, concerts and seminars, will take place in Adana, Mersin, Tarsus, Silifke, Anamur, Antakya and İskenderun simultaneously.
