Those resisting change have no place in Turkey

MUSTAFA KARAALIOĞLU
We are entering the most crucial phase of the resolution process and Turkey needs, at this point, to understand, hear and discuss what is going on.

At this point, there also needs to be more overtime and intellectual effort for a resolution, not polemics and chatting.

From this point of view, the wise men delegation is the right idea at the right time.

We have a rich staff in front of us consisting of more qualified and diversified identities than expected. They are each assets in their own fields and most of them are names that have shown courage for years in shouldering responsibility for a resolution.

The delegation is stronger and more qualified than expected, however the reactions from the media and politics are exactly as expected…

They say “There cannot be such a wise men delegation.”

You are right, there cannot be…

Who you call wise men would not be concerned that blood is shed, that mothers and fathers are in tears…

Who you call wise men would not care that ties between the west of the country and the east of the country are breaking…

Who you call wise men would not rejoice that democracy and peace are coming, on the contrary, they would be afraid…

Wise men would be like you…

Who you call wise men would not sit at a table with the government; they would sit with those who make plans to topple the government…

Who you call wise men would not express opinions to the prime minister; they would directly take orders from the military…

Who you call wise men would applaud the person who says “hit.”

Who you call wise men would carry Hrant Dink and Ahmet Kaya to headlines and make them targets…

Who you call wise men monitor those who wear the headscarf, would close parties, and keep a record of those who say Kurd to Kurds…

Who you call wise men would not shoulder responsibility; they would make plans, play games and set a trap…

Who you call wise men do not recognize the nation’s will or democracy, etc.; they only know of their general…

Who you call wise men give advice to Ergenekon, Balyoz and the memorandum, not to the solution…

Who you call wise men should not be wise but cunning; wise men would be exactly like you…

You should accept it now. You do not exist in the new Turkey, you will not be, you will not be able to be.

You have not grasped change; you resisted change to death. You lost in every estimation; you were wrong in every calculation. You messed up every trap. Whoever you supported, you went down with them…

The pompous life you have set up with your bosses and you have protected with your generals will go down in history as a pathetic career; you need to accept this.

If accepting is a bit too much for you, then instead of whistling in the dark at least bend your head a little. Bend it so we do not see you…
