In a new animated TV series made by the Turkish state-owned television station, TRT, the Ottoman Empire will be examined through the eyes of a 10-year-old boy. The film, titled “Çınar” will be aired on the TRT Çocuk channel.
 
The boy, a fourth grader named Çınar, learns about the existence of the Ottoman Empire in his social studies class and visits the Topkapı Palace Museum. It is then that his journey into Ottoman history begins.
 
The project, which uses various animation techniques, aims to teach history to children through a joyous narration. In each episode of the series, Çınar dreams himself to be a person involved in various incidents in the history of the Ottoman Empire.

Çınar will meet a history professor at the Topkapı Museum and they will begin to visit the palace together. In his dreams, he will also become friends with Baykoca, the nephew of the founder of the Ottoman state, Osman Bey. Then he will start meeting with well-known figures from the Ottoman Empire such as Orhan Gazi, Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror and Piri Reis. Children can learn the important history of the Ottomans through this educational adventure animation.
