Galatasaray seeks a first-leg advantage at Burhan Felek Sports Hall in Istanbul before the series will be finalized on March 31. The final appearance at the second-tier competition in European volleyball is already a high point for the team, whose previous best record came with a fourth finish in 1997.
Galatasaray also finished third in the third-tier European Challenge Cup in 2010.
Cem Kartal, the director of volleyball at the Istanbul club, said the club would not be settling for just a final appearance.
“Success comes the hard way and our team has advanced to the final after hard struggles,” Kartal was quoted as saying on the club’s website. “I hope we will win the CEV Cup against Busto Arsizio, becoming the first Turkish team to bring the trophy to Turkey. And with my belief in the team, I can say, do not have the slightest worry about it.”
