Turkish firms hopeful about hiring in Q4

ISTANBUL
Turkish employers expect to add to overall payrolls in the year’s fourth quarter, albeit at a slower pace than in the past, according to a survey by Manpower on hiring expectations for the last quarter in 42 countries.

“For the fourth quarter, the worldwide attitude of wait-and-see toward further hiring continues and in many countries throughout the EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] region, the forecasts have weakened from the last quarter. Despite the 6-percentage-point decline, Turkey remains optimistic compared to the other countries, especially in the region,” said Manpower Turkey General Manager Reha Hatipoglu in a written statement.

In the EMEA region, Turkish employers report the region’s strongest hiring plans. Elsewhere, overall hiring intentions are nominally weaker than in the prior quarter. The weakest outlook is reported in Italy.
