Turkish Airlines fleet ranks 14th

Turkey’s national air carrier Turkish Airlines was ranked 14th in the world for its 180 airplane fleets, in airline rankings compiled by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Turkish Airlines aims to have a total of 200 airplanes by the end of 2012 and 212 airplanes by the end of 2013.

The IATA rankings placed American Delta Airlines on top of the list with 770 planes, followed by Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines with 696 planes and FederalExpress (FedEx) with 654 planes.

Headquartered in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
