Join forces to utilize chances, Parliament Speaker Çiçek says

Cooperation and stability are required for prosperous business and trade relations between countries, Turkey’s parliamentary head Cemil Çiçek told guests yesterday at the opening ceremony of the 16th Eurasian Economic Summit. 

Çiçek, who defined the summit as “a tradition-in-making,” said the platform allowed countries to find ways to use opportunities offered by regional characteristics. 

Underlining the immense potential of the Eurasian lands, both in natural resources and in trade potential, he said such potential should be used to its fullest. 

“Cooperation is necessary for the full realization of such opportunities,” Çiçek said. “I have seen in my travels in the region that everyone - the politicians, the businessmen, the private sector - are all open for this.”

He added that Turkey was a country that could form “a language of heart” with all nations, with equal understanding and tolerance for all cultures and countries.

“Turkey is a country that stands at an equal distance to all countries and a country that can form a language with all nations,” Çiçek said. “It’s fast rising potential is drawing attention from all over the world. This fast rise was ensured through democratic reforms, foreign policy decisions and a strong economic performance.”
