Istanbul Modern hosts Monali Meher
As part of Istanbul Modern’s Young Architects Program (YAP) events and the YAP architecture program events, Istanbul Modern hosts a performance by Monali Meher on Aug. 23, “Visiting Marmara,” with the collaboration the International Performance Platform (IPA). For Istanbul, the artist will be reinterpreting her previous performance “Visiting Pearl,” during which she walked backwards with incense sticks in the city of Guangzhou, China. The performance starts in Istanbul Modern’s garden, and ends up in a mystery location along the Bosphorus. The venue, which is in front of the museum and has been made into a garden and a public space called “Sky Spotting Stop” is designed by SO? Architecture and Ideas, which is hosting exclusive and free of charge events.
