D-Smart, Sony Pictures sign deal

D-Smart, a digital pay-TV operator in Turkey, has inked a deal with Sony Pictures Television to broadcast a large number of movies, series and talk shows produced by Sony.

Sony Pictures Television, one of the leading producers in Hollywood, had a deal with Digiturk, the biggest rival of D-Smart in the market. After the deal ends, Sony Pictures Television signed a new long-term and large-scale deal with D-Smart.

“D-Smart viewers can reach Sony Pictures Television’s rich content,” D-Smart, a subsidiary of Doğan TV Holding, announced in a written statement yesterday.

D-Smart continues to make content investments it said. In the framework of the agreement, D-Smart won the rights to broadcast Sony Pictures Television’s movies and series along with its wide archive.

Sony Pictures Television is the producer of many well-known movies such as Charlie’s Angels, Hancock, Spiderman 1-2-3, Da Vinci Code, Terminator 3, Smurfs 2, Django Unchained and Men in Black.
