Türkiye has formally adopted its new Artificial Intelligence Action Plan for 2026-2030, setting out an updated national roadmap to strengthen the country’s technological competitiveness, digital sovereignty and AI capabilities.
Authorities said the new framework responds to the rapid transformation driven by artificial intelligence in global economies, public services, industry and society.
Prepared under the coordination of the Industry and Technology Ministry, the plan is based on principles of human-centered development, trust, ethics and sustainability.
The roadmap aims to expand AI awareness, train qualified personnel, strengthen data and computing infrastructure, and accelerate AI adoption across public and private sectors. It also seeks to establish an internationally competitive and reliable AI ecosystem.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır said the government plans to provide AI literacy training to five million citizens within the next two years, covering both opportunities and risks associated with the technology. He also announced that around 2,000 public datasets will be made available to Turkish AI developers, creating new opportunities in fields ranging from education and healthcare to energy, transport and finance.
