Turkey's trademarks lead

Turkey surpassed France in 2011 with the number of applications for 120,000 trademarks and has become the European leader.Chairman of the Turkish Patent Institute Professor Habip Asan told the Anatolia news agency they had begun to reap the fruits of their efforts in recent years.
“There is serious awareness in Turkey when it comes to trademarks,” Dr. Asan said.
In 2011, there were 120,000 trademark applications in Turkey, up 41 percent from 2010. Turkey for
the first time in history has become the European leader with the number of applications for trademarks. Its success in 2011 was an indication it was on the right track when it comes to trademarks, Dr. Asan said.
