Turkey becomes Europe’s fastest-growing country
KONYA - Anatolia News Agency
Turkey became Europe’s fastest-growing country in 2010 with a growth rate of 9.2 percent and an 8.5 percent growth rate in 2011, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ said yesterday, speaking at the Turkey-Tajikistan Business Council meeting in Konya. Since 2008 the world economy has been shaken by the economic recession, but Turkey has stood strong, Bozdağ said. “The economy is still growing. As a member of the G-20, Turkey became the third-fastest-growing country after China and Argentina,” he said.
