Reuters denies leaking claim

ISTANBUL - Hürriyet Daily News
Reuters has denied any misconduct after it was accused of disclosing this week’s inflation 17 minutes earlier than the official release time.

“Reuters did not have any access to any information on the Turkish Statistical Institute’s (TÜİK) web site, which was not open to public. Reuters did not use any special method to breach the security or any other protection measures on TÜİK’s web site. We deny any kind of accusations claiming the contrary,” the international news agency said, according Borsagundem.com. TÜİK President Birol Aydemir said the inflation data was not released early and claimed that Reuters utilized a special software to obtain data, according to Anatolia news agency.
