Israeli foreign minister holds talks in Baku

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman started his trip to Azerbaijan on April 22, as Israel seeks to strengthen its relations with Iran’s neighbor. “Relations between Azerbaijan and Israel have always been good and continue to grow in all directions,” Liberman said. During a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, Lieberman said the economic development of Azerbaijan was in full view of everyone, and noted the importance of expanding ties between the two countries. Mammadyarov informed Liberman about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the steps taken to resolve the conflict peacefully, according to Trend News Agency. Lieberman is also expected to meet Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.
