Businessmen ask for 'transparent public spending'

New constitution proposals pour like rain into the Constitution Conciliation Commission. Ankara Young Businessmen Association has also submitted its proposals to the Parliament.

The group has specifically emphasized it as “the amendment we wish the most to happen.”

They said, “We want a transparent public administration and a transparent and accountable bureaucrat. These principles should be included in the new constitution.” The group said its reasons for its demand were that, “Bureaucrats should be able to be tried in matters where they have done a mistake and where they have been wrong. Those who have made a mistake should pay for it.

We have witnessed such incidents that we, as a nation, had to pay the price. And now, it is time to transform into a transparent structure in public administration. Outdated concepts such as favoritism and cheating in tenders should be eliminated…”
