Arab League wants binding UN action on Syria

The Arab League today called on participants of a second "Friends of Syria" conference to pressure the United Nations to take binding measures to stop the year-long bloodshed in Syria.Participants must "simultaneously call on the Security Council to take a binding decision... to stop the violence in Syria," chief Nabil al-Arabi said at the opening of the conference in Istanbul.
