Two Turkish films at Berlinale

Two Turkish films will be screened in the Panorama section of the Berlinale film festival, which will take place from Feb. 7 to 17 in the German capital. According to a written statement made by the festival organizers, 31 films from 23 countries will be screened in the Panorama section of the festival this year.

One of the Turkish films will be “Soğuk” (Cold), directed by Uğur Yücel and starring Cenk Alibeyoğlu, Rıfat Şungar, Valeria Skorohodova, Yulia Vaniukova, Yulia Erenler, Şebnem Bozoklu and Ezgi Mola.

The other film will be Aslı Özge’s “Hayatboyu” (Lifelong), starring Defne Halman and Hakan Çimenser. The statement said the films would both make their world premieres at the festival. All the other films in Panorama will celebrate their world or European premieres, according to the statement. At press conferences and audience discussions after the screenings, moviegoers get a chance to discuss the films with directors.
